About Fate Apothecary

Food, herbs, gardening, and a little intuition.

Fate Apothecary started with herbs and the idea that the things we grow, cook, and keep around us can be useful, nourishing, comforting, and worth understanding.

Somewhere along the way, we realized that conversation wasmuch bigger than herbs.

It’s also the food we make. What we grow. What we keep in the pantry. The little things we learn and pass along to friends.

So Fate Apothecary has evolved.

Today, it’s our growing collection of recipes, herbs, garden notes, kitchen knowledge, and practical ways to be a little more intentional about what goes into—and comes out of—our homes.

We’re Beth and Matt, a husband-and-wife team in Fate, Texas. Beth is the gardener, herbalism nerd, and person most likely to tell you a recipe is merely a suggestion. Matt has spent the last 23 years learning right alongside her and now handles a lot of the cooking too—especially anything involving meat, fire, or a reason to break out the grill. Most of what ends up here comes from the way we actually cook at home: together, by instinct, and with very little interest in measuring.

Around here, we cook with our hearts, occasionally let our ancestors decide when we’ve added enough seasoning, and firmly believe taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect.

We’re not trying to tell you how to live your life. We’re just sharing what we actually make, grow, use, learn, and love— hopefully in a way that makes something a little easier for you too.
