Herbal tradition
Traditional use notes
Thyme has traditionally been used to purify, as it is an antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-parasitic, and anti-fungal. Thyme was praised by herbalist Nicholas Culpepper (b. 1616 - d. 1654) for strengthening the lungs, particularly in children with whooping cough. It is still widely used today as a respiratory remedy.
